Description
Detailed Description
An impressively rich single malt whisky from the Spirit of Hven distillery in Sweden, named after the renowned astronomer Tycho Brahe and the supernova he discovered back in 1572. Interestingly enough, Brahe actually lived on the small Island of Hven back in the late 1500s! Clearly the Spirit of Hven distillers are greatly inspired by astronomy.
Spirit of Hven Backafallsbyn Tycho’s Star Single Malt Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Caramelised apple and poached pear. Generous notes of wood smoke with a very slight touch of coastal air. Richly herbaceous nettle tea. Fresh ginger root.
Palate: Cardamom, leafy coriander and sweet cinnamon. Peat warmth not quite as pronounced as it was on the nose. Candied peels bring a subtle touch of sweetness to the mix.
Finish: Quite long. Hints of cracked black pepper and orange chocolate.
